When you’re sitting in front of a Spanish notary, standing in a courtroom, or meeting with a lawyer about something that matters, you need more than someone who speaks both languages. You need someone who understands what’s at stake.

We’re selective about who we work with. Our interpreters have experience in high-stakes settings: UN conferences, World Bank proceedings, international courts, governmental summits. They understand the difference between testimony in a family court and a criminal hearing. They know what a notary needs to hear and how courtroom procedure works. Language fluency is the baseline. What we look for beyond that is judicial understanding, the ability to read a room, and the kind of professionalism that holds up under pressure.

Before your appointment, your interpreter prepares. They review your situation, understand what you’re trying to achieve, and arrive ready. During the session, they keep things on track when conversations get complicated or when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Afterwards, they send you a written summary of what was said and what was agreed, so you’re not relying on memory for something important.

We match you with the right interpreter

Every case is different. A property signing at a notary needs different preparation than testimony in a court hearing. A meeting with an immigration lawyer is not the same as a police statement. We match you with someone whose experience fits.

Preparation call

Before the appointment, your interpreter reviews your case and connects with you briefly. This means they arrive already understanding what matters to you.

Appointment and follow-up

Your interpreter supports you through the session and sends you a written summary afterwards. You leave with clarity, not confusion.

Legal appointments are stressful. You might be dealing with a system you don’t understand, in a language you’re not comfortable in, about something that affects your family or your future. Our interpreters notice when you’re struggling. They’re patient when you need to pause. They explain things again if you didn’t catch them the first time. The goal is that you leave feeling like you had a voice in what happened.

They show up like professionals

This means being on time, dressed appropriately, with reliable technology if it’s remote. It means staying composed when conversations get tense. It means not checking their phone while you’re trying to understand your rights. These things sound basic, but they’re not universal.

They take ownership of the outcome

If something gets lost in translation during a legal appointment, the consequences fall on you. Our interpreters understand this. They don’t treat it as a gig. They treat it as though they’re in their own appointment.

Pricing

All prices include 21% IVA. We’ll confirm the exact cost before you book anything.

Remote interpretation – €120/hr 

This covers video call interpretation for meetings with lawyers, consultations, or any appointment that can happen online. The minimum booking is one hour, and after that we charge in 30-minute blocks.

In-person interpretation – €150 to €180/hr

For notary appointments, court hearings, or face-to-face meetings in Madrid, Málaga, Barcelona, or Valencia. The range depends on the specific location and travel time within the city. The minimum booking is one hour, and after that we charge in 30-minute blocks.

Other locations or multi-day bookings -€700 per day, plus expenses

If your appointment is outside our four main cities, or if you need an interpreter for a full day, this is the rate. Many of our interpreters can travel. We’ll agree travel costs and accommodation with you in advance so there are no surprises.

Short-notice bookings

Our standard is seven days notice because that’s what it takes to prepare properly. If you need someone sooner, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do. There’s usually a premium for last-minute requests, and availability is limited, but we’ll be honest with you about what’s possible.

Language pairs (into Spanish)

We cover interpretations for English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Norwegian, Swedish, and more. Less common languages may require a bit more time, so just ask us.

A COMMON QUESTION WE GET ASKED …

“Do I need an interpreter or a translator?”

If you’re attending an appointment in person where Spanish will be spoken and you need to understand and respond in real time, you need an interpreter. That’s what we provide here.

If you have a document that needs to be converted from one language to another for official submission, you need a sworn translation. We do that too, and you can find more on our Translations page.

Sometimes you need both. For example, if you’re signing documents at a notary, you might need the documents translated beforehand and an interpreter present for the signing itself. If you’re not sure, just ask us. We’ll tell you what your situation requires.
